Im planning to built a turnkey. Im undecided what kind of ram to use. I know there are powerful ram sticks out there. I acknowledge the difference in price between RDRAM and DDR. Apparently DDR is more affordable but RDRAM seems to be superior.
My current turnkey layout is
P/4 at 1.7
Rdram 768 mb 800 MHz
230 gigs 7200rpm in 2 separate drives 200/30
Nvidia Gforce pci 128mb dual monitor support
Soundblaster live 5.1
Pinnacle capture card analog to digital with firewire 1394
16 x dvd rom and 8x dvd burner
Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 as primary video editing software.
Carrara Studio 4 for 3d animation.
Ive been able to run both applications at the same time with no problem at all, except at rendering time.
This is my question.:
Is there any big difference in video editing performance between the greatest DDR and RDRAM in the market?
