Hello,
I just got my Canon GL2. I’m a novice.
I plan to use it to make instructional videos for violin students.
I would like to use my existing external Alesis AM11 mics and Midiman preamp for phantom power. This combination has worked very well for me for high quality audio recording.
Can I plug those in to the AV adapter or the mic adapter without buying the Canon ma300 mic adapter (which only works with battery powered mics.)
If I plug my mics (amplified by the preamp) into the AV adapter, will that work and will it shut off the built in mic?
The instruction manual does not deal adequately with these questions.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
Roy
