My friend has an external harddrive that he’s going to let me use to capture footage onto. He has used it to put other videos that he’s downloaded and other types of stuff on there from a windows comp. If I hook it up to a Mac, will I be able to capture footage to it without any problems, or should I format the drive first and use it on the Mac totally clean? I’m not sure how the file systems work between the two OS’s. I know I can use a jumpdrive between mac’s and pc’s without any problems, but would the harddrive act the same way? Thanks,
Lee
Lee,
i have had no experience with Mac’s and their format, but I would suggest that like with alll hard drives to be used for video capture, format and scandisc ( windows terms) before using.
