DVI monitor?

What does an LCD monitor with “DVI” input do for me? (I see less expensive monitors with analog only.)

1. Is it simply a better quality image?
2. Does it enable me to hook up my camcorder directly into the monitor?
3. Can I live with analog input?

I guess I just need to know if it is an essential monitor spec for dv editing. Thanks in advance for any advice here.

Go with an LCD and don’t worry about the HDV input. It will edit the same and you’ll save some bucks. It won’t matter at all in the finished product.
