I’m looking for DVD authoring software that the professionals use. When I author I want to have full creativity decisions on how my menu buttons and all that stuff will look like. I can’t stand those cheesy menu and chapter buttons that the software has. In some cases I don’t want to use buttons, I just may want the words to link to other menus, etc. I want my finished product to look like a real DVD movies finished product. What DVD authoring software will allow me that freedom?
on the mac:
DVD Studio Pro
on the PC:
Adobe Systems – Encore DVD 1.5
Sonic Solutions – DVDit 5
Sonic Solutions – ReelDVD 3
Ulead Systems – DVD Workshop Express
Ulead Systems – Ulead DVD Workshop 2
This is a good link to get started with…

I use DVD Architecht which comes bundled with Sony’s Vegas. Can’t buy it on it’s own.
DVD Architect is fantastic. If you need an NLE too, get that.
