I recently purchased a panasonic gs-400 camcorder but it doesn’t have
a firewire port on the camera (just usb) How can I go about connecting
the camcorder via firewire to my mac powerbookG4? Final Cut Pro
recognizes only firewire not usb. Any solutions will be greatly
      appreciated. Thanks. πŸ˜€

Thanks for the info. I did just that and it looks like the Pyro Dual Link
Hard Drive conversion kit might just fit the bill.

not sure where you got your GS 400 but if it doesn’t have a Firewire port on it you better take it back.. Check out http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=319788&is=REG&addedTroughType=search for more information on the 400 and you can see that it has a 4pin firewire port on it for capture. Let me know if your camera really doesn’t have this.

Somebody actually had to show me where the firewire port was on the
camera. Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it.
