Videomaker – Learn video production and editing, camera reviews › Forums › General › Video and Film Discussion › Desktop vs Workstation
I’m new to the forum and don’t really have a problem But am in the market for a new video editing computer. So what is the difference between a desktop and a workstation. Vid Maker lists both separately but both appear the same. I’m interested in the real McCoy something like my DVLine (now out of business) and not the $300 -$600 Dell or HP etc. Also don’t want one to challenge Hollywood with.
get yourself a nice quad core pc with 2 – 4 gig ram, a couple of large hard drives and a decent video card and sound card. you’ll be set from there. you can probably buy the components needed yourself and build it cheaper than buying a box off the shelf retail.
