ParticipantI edit on a Mac Pro. Everything is outputed to MOV file.
I am placing some samples on my website, but not everyone uses quicktime. So I would like to have the option to use Windows Media Player as well.
Are there any free applications to convert .MOV files to .WMV.
OR
Does anyone know an output setting in FCP that would out to a Window Media player format? Thanks

InactiveFinding this out a couple months ago. You have to purchase Flip4Mac to export any footage to WMV. files. If you just download the trial version, it will only do 30 seconds of footage. So you have to buy it.
Here is the link. http://www.flip4mac.com/store_wmv.htm
I hope this helps.

ParticipantTry http://www.YouConvertIt.com
This free online tool should do the trick for you. It will convert many files into a long list of various file format options. I have not tried, .MOV to .MWV, but I believe that both file formats are supported.

ParticipantAnother option to consider is to convert the mov files to Flash instead. That allows you to embed them on your webpages and the resulting files are small. I use a free video to flash converter from DVDvideosoft – it works well and includes the flash player.
