I figure this question has been asked a billion times.
Problem is I’ve got an old sony video cam, but a new Toshiba laptop. It’s got S Video on both and I have a converter. Just wondering if anyone has a link to tutorials for this sort of thing. Thanks!
I’m 90% sure that the S-Video port on your laptop is just TV-Out, so you can’t really use it for capture. You need an external capture box, usually connected through USB.
Thanks, but the S Video and my converter worked before. I just forgot how to do it . Want to know if there are more efficient ways.
“more efficient ways”?
Could you explain what exactly do you want?
What’s the brand and model number of the converter? What capture/editing software are you using?
The answers to these questions may point to different ways to skin the same cat.
