i noticed that when two computers are networked using firewire, a deviced plugged into one computer can be seen and used by the other computer as well. i was just wondering if it is safe to connect two computers to the same firewire hard drive in windows. does anyone have any experinec with this? will this cause data on the drive to be corrupt? will this cause windows to crash?
If you use one machine as the host and enable full access sharing you should be fine. However, Iyou’re trying to plug both computers into the drive simultaniously (sp) it might caused data corruption if both computers attempt to write to the same sectors. There can be only one main controller if you want it to work right.
