Hoping you guys could help. My partner and I are going to be upgrading a couple of computers and want to see what your suggestions are. His cpu is pentium based and he will need to upgrade is motherboard in order to use a dual core processor. Which chipset and motherboard do you guys suggest? I guess it would help to inform you that we will be running primarily vegas 6 and his cpu has 2 500gb hard drives.
I would like to do the same with my AMD based cpu. The motherboard I have will be able to handle the new chip but not sure on the cost to benefit ratios. I have the Abit AV8 motherboard that is a 4dimm. Is it worth it to dump that one for another in order to apply more ram if not now then down the road?
      Appreciate any feedback!

For a desktop I would go with nothing but a AMD. They are trouncing intel right now. Laptop Intel’s core duo is the way to go but a desktop I would go with AMD’s X2 proc and a NVIDIA chip set. A VIA chip set will work well too.
