I have a small digital camcorder that I use for shot composition and small family functions.
It’s got good video quality and everything is recorded to a memory card.
Here’s my problem, everything is recorded in .ASF format which is a derivitive of MPEG 1 or 4… something like that. That was how it was marketed anyway.
Long story short, I can play the .ASF videos on my Windows maching in Media play but not on my MAC.
I have to quickly reencode them in Windows movie maker to AVI then move them to the MAC machine to do anything with them.
Are there Codec packages or updates for FCP and Quicktime so that I can watch them on the MAC.
Currently, my FCP only edits AVI, MOV and I think MPEG. NOTHING else.
