ParticipantHi everybody, I bought a new computer for editing, it has 3.0 processor intel, 200 gb store, 1 gb ram, 256k video card on it plus a fire fire port. I used sony pdf170 for shooting. but when I try to used pinnacle to capture the picture does’nt come so I try to use window movie maker but it’s give the error that the capture device not found. surprisingly I took my computer to my friend and he connect a firewire through a dvd burner through his own fire wire and it’s capture fine there but when I come back home and try on my computer it’s the same result again. I buy new firewire but the same result. any suggession really appreciated. thanks

Participantthanks a lot compusolver, Well I have studio 9 version 9.0 install in it. I am planning to buy the new studio 10 but it does’nt look like a software problem because I can’t capture the video in window movie maker also which Is I guess pretty easy to use. In the studio 9 version I have it does’nt have the option of asking which devise I am using for capture it just say from a dv camera. should I change the firewire port?. thanks a lot.
