InactiveHi, thanks to advice here I purchased the HV30 and so far it’s great. However, I live in Panama and I am having real trouble finding the cable to connect the camera to my mac (4 pin) toupload my video footage and start editing. Very frustrating. Also, I am having trouble finding the cable online because the connection to the camera must be exactly the same at the Canon size and their is no identifyer for it since that type of connection comes in many different sizes and varies in shape a little. So far the Canon shop here has been no help.
Can anyone help by pointed me to somewhere online that I can buy the correct cable. I think it is disgusting that the camera doesn’t come with this cable.
Thanks for your help!

MemberBelinda,
Check out this site http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content/Canon-HV30-Camcorder-Review-34401/Audio–Playback–Connectivity.htm#
It appears that you have a multitude of outputs, among them standard Firewire and USB – should be a regular shaped and easy to obtain cable. Let me know if that helps.
