Hi, I’m testing out the DM-100 Mic from Canon on my VIXIA HF20, and am wondering if there are any special settings to make it work. I have it connected as I can see the “S” hot-shoe button on the LCD screen, but the sound still is picking up ambient noise and other noise it really shouldn’t be picking up. Any suggestions or menu settings I should be aware of??
The DM-100 has three directional settings, gun (i.e. straight ahead, 90 deg and 120 deg. Use the gun setting to get the sound from the camera direction and the others to include more of the surrounding sound.
How are you getting along with your VIXIA HF20?
