The question you should ask first is what do you currently have available. Are you going to use a laptop or desktop? Do you need to add picture in picture, lower thirds, change camera angles? What do you have to capture audio externally?

Hi Josh – sadly, even the least expensive Tricaster costs thousands of dollars. A far less expensive solution is one or two $80 1080p webcams on tripods as your cameras and freeware like XSplit to do your streaming.

Hope this is helpful! Good luck with your show.

The answer will mostly depend on your budget and your current live streaming setup. If you have enough budget and want nothing but the best live streaming quality, go get a SDI camera, which is the best choice when it comes to professional level live streaming. They have only advantages and almost no disadvantages, except being expensive. If however you are limited by budget and can’t afford for a pro camera, then go for a camcorder like Panasonic HC-V770. It’s much cheaper, streaming time is much longer and the video quality is decent.
