The Boston Motion Picture Awards is announcing its 2005-2006 Call for Entries in the categories of Motion Picture Features and Motion Picture Shorts. In contrast to traditional film festivals, the BMPAs provide up-and-coming student and professional filmmakers with valuable resources for current and future productions.

This years prize pool includes money for future work; Final Draft screenwriting software; web pages dedicated to winning films; reviews of winning films for press kits, posters, and DVD packaging; personal finance guides; 6-month subscriptions to Macworld Magazine; personalized trophies and awards certificates, and exposure through the BMPA web site and BMPA press releases.

Last years BMPA winners went on to have their films screened at festivals around the globe, including the prestigious Ann Arbor Film Festival (USA), the Moondance Film Festival (USA), the Tribeca Underground Film Festival (USA), the Melbourne International Animation Festival (Australia), and Le Festival du Film du Strasbourg-Palmars (France).

Said Hari Das, last years 1st Place Winner in the category of Motion Picture Shorts, “The BMPA has put together an awards package that helps both the novice and experienced filmmakers. This is because their awards focus on what filmmakers really want and need. BMPA both energizes and equips you to make new films while their friendly, supportive people make you want to have a lasting relationship with the agency.”
