I have recently purchased two new aztec boom pole mics. Here is my situation: From the mic I have an xlr connection which I convert into an 1/8 adapter that fits into the camera. The strange thing is two of my cameras can only hear sound comining in on one side of the headphones?? Any logical reasons for this??
Most likely, the microphones you are using are monophonic- one channel only. Since your camcorder is stereo, you only hear one channel. This is normal. Recording is rarely done in stereo unless you use two separate microphones, but to do that witha 1/8" tip connector, you need a special cable to provide an input for the second channel.
