Hi: Is there a cam out there in the 600.00 range or lower, or one that has come down in pricea couple of yrs oldthat would give good audio with or without external mic for shooting a band video or should I skip the mic and try to add a demo cd with video. Info appreciated
Check out the Canon FS-11. It is not a 3-chip camcorder, but it does have a mic input like you wanted. It retails for $599.99 at B&H. Also, if your going to shoot a band, and you have a Demo CD of the songs you want to shoot, then definitely use that. It would be really difficult to get good audio using one 1/8″ mic input, and even worse with the on-board mic. Just play the CD while you’re taping and have the band members play in sync with the CD. You can have the CD as loud as you need, because you won’t be using the audio from the video. Hope this helps.
