      Hi,

I am new here and I was wondering if you can help me. I am trying to split an mp4 file into two using ffmpeg on a linux server. Here are the details when I use ffmeg -i filename

      [root@vps-1102002-10423 READY]# ffmpeg -i HCVMS0149.mp4
FFmpeg version SVN-r26400, Copyright (c) 2000-2011 the FFmpeg developers
      built on Jun 25 2012 23:49:59 with gcc 4.1.2 20080704 (Red Hat 4.1.2-52)
      configuration: –enable-gpl –enable-version3 –enable-nonfree –enable-postproc –enable-pthreads –enable-libfaac –enable-libmp3lame –enable-libopencore-amrnb –enable-libopencore-amrwb –enable-libx264 –enable-libxvid –enable-x11grab –enable-avfilter –enable-filter=movie
      libavutil 50.36. 0 / 50.36. 0
      libavcore 0.16. 1 / 0.16. 1
      libavcodec 52.108. 0 / 52.108. 0
      libavformat 52.93. 0 / 52.93. 0
      libavdevice 52. 2. 3 / 52. 2. 3
      libavfilter 1.74. 0 / 1.74. 0
      libswscale 0.12. 0 / 0.12. 0
      libpostproc 51. 2. 0 / 51. 2. 0

Seems stream 0 codec frame rate differs from container frame rate: 48.00 (48/1) -> 29.97 (30000/1001)
      Input #0, mov,mp4,m4a,3gp,3g2,mj2, from ‘HCVMS0149.mp4’:
      Metadata:
      major_brand : isom
      minor_version : 512
      compatible_brands: isomiso2avc1mp41
      creation_time : 2012-01-02 06:41:02
      encoder : Lavf51.12.1
      Duration: 00:31:29.01, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 3913 kb/s
      Stream #0.0(eng): Video: h264, yuv420p, 640×480 [PAR 1:1 DAR 4:3], 3757 kb/s, 29.97 fps, 29.97 tbr, 30k tbn, 48 tbc
      Metadata:
      creation_time : 2012-01-02 06:44:20
      Stream #0.1(eng): Audio: aac, 44100 Hz, stereo, s16, 151 kb/s
      Metadata:
      creation_time : 2012-01-02 06:44:20

The command I use to split the file is this:

      ffmpeg -ss 00:00:00 -t 900 -i HCVMS0149.mp4 -acodec copy -vcodec copy -threads 0 “test.mp4”

the error reported when I execute the command above is this:

[mp4 @ 0x15e1400] Application provided invalid, non monotonically increasing dts to muxer in stream 0: 2 >= 2
      av_interleaved_write_frame(): Operation not permitted

      Hope you can help me.

      Thanks,

      Melvin
