I have access to vtc dot com and it allows me to watch tutorials. There is a quick start 1.5 hours for Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. Pretty good tutorial for a total newb like me. There is also a tutorial for Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 but 8 hours of it. Just want to be sure that if I go through the CS3 version, will that basically show me a lot that is used in cs4? Or are the two applications very different in certain areas?

In certain areas they are a bit different. The timeline works a little differently in the way you select the tracks, There are a couple of new panels one for metadata and another for browsing media. But all in all the programs are mostly pretty similar to one another.

You might want to check out the tutorials at lynda.com as well.

For $25 you can watch as much as you can for 30 days, they have CS2, CS3 and CS4 tutorials that are very good.
