The Marshall V LCD51 is a 5 inch monitor accessory for video making professionals that desire more than just a monitor. This accessory not only shows the user what is being filmed, its built in features reveal imperfections like those in exposure to brightness or in focus.

The V-LCD51 is an LED backlit LCD monitor that has a large viewing angle and a variety of features found in most professional camera mounted monitors. At the bottom of its body is a 1/4inch-20 mount to allow attachment onto a DSLR camera, rigs, jibs and cranes. Features include image flipping, frame freezing, HDMI Auto Color Space, RGB Check Field/Field Detect and RGB gain and bias control. False color filter and peaking filter are the hallmark features of this monitor.

Features

False Color Filter: This feature allows the user to view the changes in the image that follow the adjustments in the iris. These adjustments cause a shift in brightness, which the filter represents as a change in color of the image. Different colors correspond to the relative exposure levels. Upon viewing the resulting coloration, the user can make the necessary adjustments in the iris of the lens until colors change to those representing proper exposure levels.

Peaking Filter: When adjusting the focus, parts of the image are more focused than the rest. The information about which parts are in focus can greatly ease the user’s job of adjusting the focus and get a nice sharp image. The peaking filter provides this information by highlighting the objects in the true color image that are in focus. The user can now simply view these highlights while adjusting the focus until the desired portion of the image has been highlighted sufficiently. However, highlighting color may become hard to distinguish from the background in certain situations. To prevent this from occurring, four different colors have been provided along with adjustable sensitivity to control the focus more precisely.

Range of Battery Options: The LCD monitor can either be powered directly through the mains using the provided power supply or by nine different battery types, depending on the convenience of the video making professional.
