A DOLLY is in fact left to right and a TRUCK is in and out, not the other way around. You first describe it the wrong way then you switch to "trucking IN AND OUT" and ask if the "camera is trucking or zooming". Rather confusing.

I think that trucking can refer to a dolly motion (towards - away), or a tracking motion (maintaining specific distance). Tracking would keep the distance to the subject constant, trucking refers to movement along either a track or a dolly.

 

I probably just made it more confusing.
