STABiLGO: Motorized GoPro Stabilizer

STABiLGO Motorized Stabilizer

At Videomaker we are always impressed by the skills and passion of video producers around the world. Whenever they need something specific they venture of the DIY way and such is the case of Michael Boczon and Christine Reilly, the creators of STABiLGo, a motorized stabilizer for GoPro Cameras.

As cinematographers Boczon and Reilly created the STABiLGO stabilizer to allow them to film action sports as well as to get the acclaimed crane shot, all with a portable handheld device for the GoPro. Working at their apartment and assembling the device in their bathtub, they successfully created a unit that allows stabilizing GoPro cameras using a high-speed processor and gyroscopic sensor, keeping the camera accurately horizontal and vertical. Below is a side-by-side comparison using STABiLGO to stabilize footage.

STABiLGO is currently on the Kickstarter website looking to raise funds to produce the unit. Feel free to visit STABiLGO Kickstarter campaign to make a pledge and support this product.

That looks like a great piece of equipment.  If it could be made to work with other types of small video cameras, I would absolutley want one.
