YouTube is the most popular online video platform for video makers and video watchers. This video-networking site receives over 800 million unique users each month and has become the second largest search engine, right below Google itself. The video watching audience (3 billion hours each month) is growing and so are the number videos uploaded every hour, minute and second.

On April 20, long-time Videomaker community member Grinner Hester was shooting the third qualifying session of Summit Racing Top Sportsman at the 2012 ADRL Spring Drags III at Bristol Dragway in Tennessee. Goth/frat boy Chase Nightblood (Nate Scholz) has assembled a not-so-crack team of investigators to help him unravel the Fortean mysteries of aliens, chupacabras, and yetis.

We always like to call attention to dedicated creative people who are making big things with video, who can do more with less. That's why we were so excited to see the video work of The Movie President. The Movie President is the brainchild of Kevin A. Millward, a film student at Northern Kentucky University. Kevin's movies are a great example of what indie video creators can accomplish, making great entertainment on a shoestring budget.

Vimeo is now offering Creative Commons licensing options for its members. Creative Commons licensing helps artists to define the specific usage rights that allow others to use, perform, distribute, and make derivative works from their original works. With an easy selection of one of six free Creative Commons licenses, artists can retain their copyright while choosing to allow others to use their work given proper credit and maintenance of simple conditions specified in the Creative Commons agreement.
