I'm just curious...does anyone know why hard drives never have as much space as they claim? For example, i just got a 500GB LaCie today and it's capacity is only 465.76GB and my 750GB drive is only 698.32GB. It's not even close.

I was looking at a Cannon ZR900 the other day, and the sales person told me that the pro's still like to use DV tape. What do you guys think? Witch is abetter format to use, DV tape, Mini DVD, or a Hard drive? Witch will have the better quility image? Any thoughts on this matter will help me make up my mind aboutbuying a new video camera
