Most people don't realize that when the refer to a documentary film that they are really referring to a documentary video. Most independent media makers use video and not film. I guess since independent Media started on film we will be using the term for a while, but it is video camcorder and computer video editing that has allowed thousands of new independent media makers to tell their stories and not film.
