    Maybe this is due to a recent drive through the Avenue of the Giants, but trees are more and more bringing me to humility. If you ever have the chance, visit Northern California's coast and see the redwoods, especially the northern-most areas where portions of forest were filmed as the Endor moon from Return of the Jedi. Aside from making great backdrops, let's focus on wood products for video.

    Varizoom recently announced Stealthy: a product that can be used for photographers and videographer while shooting in the field. It is a motion stabilizer, 3-point shooter , mini monopod full monopod and tripod. It can be hung from your belt clip and photographers can use them to grab quick images that require stabilization.

  • Documentary Style Shooting in Children of Men

    To achieve a raw documentary feel for Children of Men, director Alfonso Cuaron and cinematographer Emanuel Lubezki created complex choreographed scenes with long takes and custom camera rigs to bring the viewer into the story. Released in 2006 the film received and academy award nomination for best cinematography.
