I have been playing with Raxco's newest utility, PerfectDisk Rx (v. 1.0, build 14). True to name and heritage, it is a defragger, but it also includes a few other nice touches. It's a rather svelte utility, taking up no more than 60MB of memory at peak usage over five processes (more like 35MB at idle.) One of the main attractions is the ability to automatically analyze and defrag your drives when needed when the system is idle, a feature Raxco calls StealthPatrol. The same SMARTPlacement optimization algorithm from the full version of PerfectDisk is also at work here.
