Today Avid has announced updates to its Media Composer and Symphony line of professional video editing and finishing software. Editors familiar with Avid will notice updates to Avid Media Authoring, allowing them to natively author to the JPEG 2000 codec, as well as package sequences that supports version tracking. Even though Symphony is a fine color correction tool in its own right, Avid is giving some love to DaVinci Resolve graders by improving the the way they link and re-link files.
