The Cameras In Your Clothes?

MIT researchers have created a fabric composed of light-sensitive fibers that can serve as a rudimentary camera (rudimentary in the sense that it’s only black-and-white, is fixed-focus and has no optical zoom).

The primary application cited by this team of researchers was giving soldiers the ability to see behind themselves. And if an area of the fiber was damaged, it’s possible it could still deliver images to be processed, though likely with a quality loss.

Gotta wonder how much a shirt like that would cost…
