Videomaker Short Video Contest, phase 2

by cfulton | November 8th, 2007

The 2007 Videomaker Short Video Contest is now closed. The DVDs have been burned and distributed to the judges. We accepted 177 entries and didn’t accept 11 (mostly on time limits, but also for copyright violations and for unreadable media in one form or another.)

Drama/Action was our most popular category this year, followed by student-produced, young and senior. Music video wasn’t as popular this year as it has historically been. And avant-garde had a mere two entries this year–we were hoping for more.

At this point, your patience as contestants is very appreciated. When judging is over, I’ll call you if you won something. This will most likely be in the late December/early January timeframe. Everyone else will see the winning videos posted online, most likely late in the first quarter of 2008, and the May 2008 issue will include the contest winner story.

Good luck to all of our contestants–we look forward to watching your hard work.
