"Monetary Greediness" would be more truthful... but, interestingly enough I will probably be in line at the midnight showing handing over my cash. :/ Hopefully it will still be affordable to go see a movie 2 years from now. I bet it really came down to the fact that they knew they could double their profits by splitting it into two. They probably considered 3 installments, but realized Daniel Radcliffe (Harry) would be too old to play the part by the third. He will be 21 in 2011, so he'll probably shoot the last at 20 years old. That's pushing it for Potter, unless Hogwartz has a doctorate program. Creative reasons!?
