MediaCoder
Quick and Fast: This program is a do-it-all converter for anything, whether video or audio. If you just need an audio encoder, this is too much, but if you need a “universal audio/video transcoder”, than you’ve found your program. Very intense, not for beginners!
IMPORT FORMATS: Seems to import anything!
EXPORT FORMATS: Can’t export MOV, RV, RM, OGM or some obscure formats.
Where to get it: http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/ Windows works best! If you have a Mac or Linux, you’ll need WINE and some features still won’t work.
I never did much with MediaCoder. It doesn’t fit my style all that well (I prefer using Any Video Converter or conveditors like VirtualDub or Avidemux for converting video). It’s pretty intense and I wouldn’t recommend the program to beginners.
I personally use the program as a last ditch defense for difficult media that won’t work with another program. It’s really a great last resort. I’ve found tutorials for other software (I especially remember a VirtualDub tutorial) where the guy recommends MediaCoder as an alternative if everything else fails.
Tutorials: You’ll need these, since the program is a so involved. There’s very little documentation, since the developer(s?) don’t like writing documentation. There is a Wiki Here that is OK, and a forum Here.
License and Use: MediaCoder’s license is based on the Mozilla license. Read This. After reading it, I’m pretty sure you may use for commercial purposes.
