i have a fostex FR2 portable field recorder, and i am trying to find wireless lapel microphones (transmitters and receivers) to use with this set up. does anyone have any advice on what's available? i've read up a bit on the "AZD200ULT Dual 63-Channel On-Camera UHF Wireless Bodypack System" but not sure if this would be compatible with the FR2. Appreciate the help, thanks!!

According to a videoguys.com review on the Azden model you refer to...
The receiver comes with a "hot-shoe" mount, a 3.5mm to 3.5mm output cable and a 3.5mm to twin XLR cable.

According to B&H, your DR comes with dual XLR L/R connections.

If I interpret this to mean two stereo tracks, then the Azden will take up only one track, two channels - because each mic goes to its own XLR plug in mono form, (i.e.: left or right channel), thus leaving you with a track still available.

In the short amount of time I had available, I couldn't clearly tell whether your DR has one or two stereo tracks, but either way it will work fine with the Azden. In fact, it will work with receivers that do not have XLR connections also, but you'd need an adapter like a Beachtek, or an inexpensive plug adapter that has 3.5mm female and XLR male (available from Compass).
