I have some windows media video files I was trying to put on the web. What is the best way to integrate a player and controls? I am a total novice at web pages and am using Front page to post these Videos. Also, if I use MPEG is 1 or two better for the web and how would I go about doing it?

Generally the data rates of both MPEG formats are too high for streaming/progressive download. If you do use MPEG-1 it's best to make it a download for viewing from the hard drive. I don't know Front Page at all, but you might check out how my videos are presented, and if you like the format, do a "view source" to see the HTML for embedding the player. None of this stuff is easy until it suddenly is.

    Travis,

If the files are in Windows Media Format (wmv), the easiest way to place them on your site is to:

    1. Ftp the .wmv format file to your site

    2. Place a link to the video file within your web page

    3. When the link is clicked, the video will play.

    4. See example at Video Tip of the Week

The Windows Media Format is a great way to present video over the web. If your files are not in windows media format, you can use the Windows Media Player to convert them to that format.
