I am trying to convert my mov. file to a wmv. Each time I export>convert through quicktime and save, it only does 29 seconds of the movie. The movie is 8 minutes and I know it exists!!

    Any ideas why?

You probably only have the trial version of the WMV conversion software.  It is not native to MACs.  FlipforMAC software or something like that right?

In addition to Flip4Mac, you might try using MPEG Steamclip.  Its a free media convertor for the Mac.  IT converts AVI, MPEG2, MPEG-4, DV, HDV, WMV, Quicktime, and other formats.

Because you have to BUY the full version of Flip4Mac.  That program is such a jip.  Why hasn't Apple written something that allows you view wmv on apple?

If you want to only view WMV format files in Quicktime, you do not need to purchase the "FULL" Flip4Mac WMV components. However, if you haven't purchased or upgraded to QuicktimePro, I highly recommend it.  Once QT Pro is installed, then download the free Flip4Mac WMV Component at:

    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/video/flip4macwindowsmediacomponentsforquicktime.html.

Once installed, you can view your WMV media files within Quicktime.  If you want to convert other formats to WMV files, then MPEG Streamclip will work for you.
