I'm planning to buy a DV for my family. The video quality should be good for normal family standard. It should be good not only for sunny screenary, but also for dark environment. Thanks a lot in advance.

What's your budget?  Price will make a big difference as to recommendations.  Also, besides low light capabilities, what are your other feature/bell/whistle needs?

I'm not familiar with the parameters of DVs. What good features do you suggest for normal family use? My budget is about US$ 600.00.

Thank Robgrauert for the suggestions. But I'm afraid they are too professional for normal family use.
