Next to budget, some of the issues are size, low light capability, image stabilization scheme (electronic versus optical), mic-in, headphone jack, manual versus auto exposure, focus, white balance and shutter speed. Super small cameras may be convenient, but they're hard to hand hold steady. Without a mic jack you are forever at the mercy of bad audio in many situations. Without a headphone jack you can't tell what audio you're getting until you've got it. Some people are delighted with the first camera they buy. Others will larger aspirations trade up in a year or two, or bite the bullet first time out. If you're going to make money with your camera you're going to have to spend and learn more up front.
