Your best hope may be to try to accomplish it with software. Some NLE packages include adjustable "film" effects filters. I suspect there's nothing you can do natively with the GL-2 to effectively create a "film look".

I suggest that you try to get a hold of the August, 2003 issue of Videomaker, which contains an excellent article about the technical and temporal differences between Video and Film.

try using a tiffen pro mist 2 filter with frame movie mode. The best way to make footage look like film is to use a tripod and 3 point lighting. Don't use the zoom on your camcorder but instead dolly in or out.

Anyone ever try DVFilm. I downloaded a demo version of it that you can use to test. I thought it would not work but when I put a clip into the field screen it processed it and I output it to tape and it actually looked like film. I am for real!!! I'm using Pinnicle 8 (which is not a professional software) and I don't even have a 3CCD cam yet. If the test runs like the software this may not be a bad thing to try!!!!

Have you noticed that in most feature films the background is out of focus. Try to keep your subjects one-third of the way between your camera and the background, and use a zoomed setting for the shot (and set focus manually, if possible).

This isn't one-stop shopping, but one simple technique you can employ to get a more professional look.
