i purchased a alienware MJ-12 7500i workstation...these are the specs i got.

Pentium D 3.0 ghz
2 gig mem (2x1gig sticks)
Dual dvi out nvidia 128 mb vid card (forgot model)
1x160 gb systems drive
320 gb raid 0 storage drive (2x160gb)
dual layer dvd burner and seperate dvd rom
XP pro with SP2

and i think that was about it. it was the most i could get for my money besides mom and pop stores and making it myself. i will be running avid express pro on this machine and only going on the net for updates. i have a 300 dollar emachine for the net. lol

sorry guys, i do not mean to brag...i am just super excited to have finally made a decision. i have been researching for while. its probably not too late to make a modification or two, so comments are welcome.

Duel core... 3.0 GHz - 800 MHz FSB... 2GB RAM... NVIDIA 128 PCI-E graphics...

NOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKIN ABOUT! :D

Should be all set for HDV editing!

for sure. i will let you know how it works out. right now the ship date is april 4th. we will see when it actually arrives. I will let everyone know if i have any problems and if something works good to help you guys in your future purchases.
