Am looking at different video editing software for a MiniDV camcorder. Anyone that has any experience with this? I'm looking to buy software anywhere from $0 to $150. I've got firewire and the card already. Thanks.

I saw the TechTV video editor review on The Screen Savers, and IMHO, it was typical of their short term, superficial product reviews. A specialty source like Videomaker would be better. However, the techtv review is at:

Before you spend money, though, look for other reviews and especially user reviews. Vendor support will be evident if you check their support pages and forums--or lack thereof.

If your looking for new software for 99 dollors for dv or firewire check out canopus Let's Edit. I resently purchased the soft ware and it's grate. fast all the transitions are vewablei in real time on the computer but you still have to render to get them to out put throw the firewire works with mack and PC. The only thing that bumed me out was that after purchasing the software I have to sent in the code and the code generated to get back the activaction code. semes a little much for a 99 dollor program but you get to use it full function for 30 days untell your activation code comes back. But if you are looking for real time viewing of transitions and most filters in the computer
and acess to directX filters. You cant beet the look and feal of this progaram. But check it out at canopus first to see if this is for you.
