I just got vegas, after upgrading from moviestuido 3.0, and I was stumped when I heard little beeps at seemingly random intervals in a project I previously made in MovieStudio...(sometimes the beginning of the clip, sometimes the end, sometimes randomly in the middle)DOes anyone know whats up with the beeps? Also... How do you use the 5.1 Audio stuff?

Also, does Vegas support 2 Monitors?

    Vegas supports multiple monitors,

and here is a surround tutorial: http://www.luciferjones.org/Surround%20Sound%20in%20Vegas.htm

I dunno what the beeping could be? Is it indentifiable in the waveforms? Do you hear it when you render the video out?

Try rendering a test file and see if the pop is still there.

Setting up dual monitors. Hmmm do you mean a preview monitor in that you can preview you work from Vegas on?

Vegas uses firewire for this... there is a button on the preview window that looks like a little monitor called "Preview on external montor" this allows you to preview on a device connected to the firewire card on your computer.

Or do you mean two monitors side by side so you can stretch your timeline out and have more room to work?
You will need a graphics card that supports dual monitors. There is nothing you have to configure in Vegas for dual monitors, it should recognize the other monitor and adjust the timeline accordingly.

Not sure if this will help but got it off the sony website. Maybe it applies to Vegas as well as Acid?

    ACID Pro Update
Please Note: Using the default installation path is recommended. The default installation path for Sony ACID Pro 4.0 is C:\Program Files\Sonic Foundry\ACID 4.0. Problems such as file format plug-ins stating they are expired or demo beeps occurring when you use Sonic Foundry or Sony audio effects can occur if, during installation, you change the install path to a directory that holds newer Sony products
