I wanted to see if anyone knew how to get the effect of someone literally writing words on the screen. As a title. (Kindof like John Madden using his Magic Pen to circle things on the football replays.) I use Adobe Premiere 2.0. Is this possible? I would appreciate any insight.

Just use your keyframes to animate a matte. Use key effects if you're not on a black background. Takes a bit of time, but not too much.

I don't know whether there's a plugin for that or not (maybe someone else does?). Since I presume you're talking about cursive, it might be a bit difficult to code a plugin.

Not the kind of thing that premiere does, but after effects can do this really well- there's an on line tutorial http://www.creativemac.com/2004/02_feb/tutorials/ko25040217.htm here.

    Paul -

Perhaps not the kind of thing Premiere does intuitively, but it sure can be done and without too much difficulty, though I have to agree that this begins to get into the realm where AE is king.
