smooth dollying on carpet

   Does anyone know of a good way to do dolly shots on carpet? I am needing to shoot an event in a church and was wondering how I could get smooth shots on a carpeted surface. Thanks for any info!

   Make the "poor mans dolly" get some PCP pipe and make a track so you don't have to worry about the carpet.

   PVC (polyvinyl chloride) would probably work vastly better (and is much more legal, as well) than PCP (phencyclidine, also known as 'angel dust')... -Charles Fulton, Associate Editor, Videomaker Magazine
