Any recommendations for a side-loading DV camcorder around $1,000? I find it hard to determine which consumer camcorders are side-loading when viewing on-line. Sony style has a few product tours but not on all models. Most every camcorder I see is bottom-loading. I want to be able to archive seminars which may run over 60 minutes. It is frustrating to have to take the camera off the tripod, unscrew the quick-release, change the tape, rescrew the quick-release and re-mount on the tripod!! The only camcorder I'm aware of is the Panasonic AG-DVC7. It has the Electronic Image Stabilization rather than the optical stabilization found on Sony and Canon camcorders. The AG-DVC7 may have to be the choice but I'm hoping someone can point out other newer technology options around the same price. Any ideas??
