   D0n,

   That's pretty cool. I would stay away from plastic as that's just beggin' for trouble. But oldschool nylon should be just fine and I would have no prob using it with fluorescent or LED lighting. Tungsten lights get too hot and it's best to stick with umbrellas designed for that.
