      Hi,

I just got a new camcorder (Speed HD-8TZ) and on its setup menu you can select to use 50hz or 60hz, which is best?

"hz" typically refers to the refresh rate of CRT monitors and LCD panels, though in the case of a video camcorder, it may actually refer to frame rate. Most camcorders, however, don't shoot in both 50fps (PAL) or 60fps (NTSC). If it's the refresh rate of your camcorder's LCD/viewfinder, I'd go with 60hz. If the camera's "computer lag" picks up with this setting, I'd go with the lower refresh rate of 50hz.
