Not long ago I posted a video with really cool tricks to make advanced camera moves with just a tripod or monopod by Jan Van Dermeer. Jan's back at it again and takes the camera crane movement to a whole other level with a small HD camera and a monopod. Unfortunately if you don't speak Dutch you're not going to understand a word he says. However, the use of the 'poorman's' camera crane are vividly illustrated as well as the parts needed to pull it off. Whether old pro or noob, I'm sure you'll be able to put this info to good use.
