I'm looking to Replace my aged HDR-HC1 only because it does not record in 1920x1080 it does not fill up my 52" 1080p TV unless its stretched which makes it look bad.

Are there any other HDV/AVC cams that can record at 1920x1080 at a low price? Or maybe i am using the wrong software to stretch my video which in turn makes it look bad? I use windows media player classic and just full screen it.

don't get a new camera. you can buy software to up-convert it. I know an AJA Kona3 card can do up-conversions in real time, but that's for Mac. I'm sure the PC equivalent, the Xena card, will do the same.
